China Glaze Party Hearty over Maybelline Minty

So I know that New Years Eve is literally right around the corner but I'm still in the Christmas mood and I'm still trying to wear my Christmas manis while it still socially acceptable. I was sad at how little I wore Party Hearty. I was really looking forward to this coming out and when I finally got it, I think I only wore it 5 times maybe. I just had to wear it once more before the Christmas season was over. I guess this is my last official Christmas mani of the year cause I tomorrow is NYE and I'm goin for the BLING!!
I have to say, I'm really sad to see the holiday season end. This has always been my favorite time of the year and I'm always sad to see the Christmas/Holiday season end. If it were up to me, it would be December every month :0). I am however very happy to see 2010 go. This has probably been the worst year for my family and I, especially health wise. So on a sad note, the holiday season is almost over and I start school Monday but on a happy note, I'm happy for a new year and a fresh start and I graduate in June! Tomorrow's post will probably be very quick so I want to wish you all a Happy New Year now. Hope you all have fun.. and be safe!

Maybelline Minty

Maybelline Minty came out this past spring along with, I believe, 5 other colors. I picked myself up a bottle back then as well as 3 more bottles a couple weeks ago in a set at Ross. Minty is one of my favorite mint green creme polishes. It's more yellow tinged than blue tinged. Application was okay; it was a bit stringy and runny but came out perfect in 3 coats.

Have any of you planned your New Year's Eve manis? I'm still contemplating mine. I know it's going to include a lot of holo glitter though!!

OPI Ali's Big Break

OPI Ali's Big Break is from this year's Holiday Burlesque collection. It's a medium red with very subtle pink shimmer. Honestly, I don't like this. I didn't like it in the swatches I saw, in the bottle, and I don't like it on my nails. I'm home with my mom for the holidays so I only packed so many polishes to bring home. When I was packing I knew I needed lots of glittery reds and I figured why not bring this one along. Well this is the last glitter red that I packed to be worn and it's my least favorite. I just don't like the pink shimmer in it I guess, it makes the polish itself look pink and odd. Plus, theres not enough shimmer for me, I find it quite boring. Oh well.
On a side note, as many of you may have noticed, the pictures are no longer working on the blog. Last night right before I went to sleep I noticed that the pictures were no longer loading correctly because I exceeded my bandwidth on Photobucket, which is the site I use to upload all the pictures shown on this blog. I am currently fixing it and it's taking much longer than I had hoped it would take. I am re-saving everything back on my computer from my Photobucket account and trying to re-upload everything onto the blog. I'm really sorry about this inconvenience, I guess there's always gonna be bumps in the road when you're a new blogger and trying to learn the tricks of the trade. Hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

OPI Smitten With Mittens

OPI Smitten With Mittens is from last year's winter Holiday Wishes collection. It's a lot like Dear Santa but a deeper cranberry red as opposed to Dear Santa which is a true red. Smitten With Mittens is has gold fleck glitter which is easy seen in the bottle but looks red on the nail. Love this polish for the holidays. I'm on a red glitter kick right now and this one if one of my all time favorites!

By the way, I'm listening to Christmas music as I write this. Please tell me I'm not the only one who still wants to listen to music after the holiday is over? I think I'll listen to it up until New Years Eve :0)

Philosophy Eggnog 3-in-1

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!! This is by far the best Philosophy 3-in-1 so far!! I got this yesterday morning from my brother for Christmas. I actually knew I was getting it because I picked it out a couple of weeks ago at Marshalls and asked him to buy it for me, and since he loves me, he did :0). Do I have to tell you again that I am in love with eggnog? It's basically my favorite drink ever; I anticipate all year long the day this delicious and decadent drink arrives in my store's grocery aisle. As soon as I saw this in Marshalls, I knew it had to be mine. I didn't have high hopes for it as a shampoo since the other three Philosophy 3-in-1s failed miserably so I honestly didn't even try it as a shampoo. Buuuuutttt, this was so thick and creamy and a body wash, it's not even funny. With the same amount of product as I used with the other 3-in-1s, this Eggnog 3-in-1 lathered up so much better and was way creamier. And the smell!! The smell!! Eggnog heaven I tell you. If you love eggnog, you need this. The smell was so creamy, and thick, and strong, and creamy, and sweet, and a nutmeg-y.. and creamy. I think I need to go back to Marshalls and see if they have any more left cause I want backups!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and got what you wished for :0)

Christmas Eve Breakfast

This morning my two older brothers, my best friend Charisma, and I went to Christmas Eve breakfast at The Mission in North Park. They're famous for french toast so that's what we all ordered..
..and (crispy) bacon and eggs..
..and Mexican hot chocolate..
..NOM NOM NOM..
Yeah. I'm allowing myself to completely indulge for Christmas Eve and Christmas but after that I'm gonna need a serious cleanse from all the sugar and sweets. Not only did I eat my whole plate for breakfast, I had cheesy alfredo pasta, Noel Nut Ball cookies, cream puffs, my mum's lemon meringue pie, and cheesecake. If you can't tell, I have a major sweet tooth.. good thing I don't eat like that every day! Tomorrow, round two of endless sweets and indulgence! I'll be sure two post pictures of out Christmas breakfast and dinner too. I didn't get manage to get pictures of the pies before they had already been eaten off of but here's a pic of my my mum's Noel Nut Balls..
Butter, pecans, and powdered sugar?! Yes please!!

Hope you and yours have a very merry Christmas full of lots of love.

Bare Escentuals Holly

Finally the last of the four Bare Escentuals Winter Escapades Buxom Babes. This is Holly. I'm gonna start out by saying that this one is much prettier in real life than in my picture, again my camera hates red and this just wouldn't  photograph and bright and vibrant as it is in real life. Holly is a gorgeous shimmery red gloss. As you can see, there's bits of red glitter which makes this gloss super unique. Holly isn't really sheer in my opinion, I know my the pictures it looks a bit natural but since I am a girl who only likes nude, natural looking lips on a normal occasion, this one was pretty extreme to me. It definitely looks like a bright cherry red to me when I look at myself in the mirror. Very pretty and festive for the holiday but since color on my lips scares me this is my least favorite of the four. However, for people who love red lips, I can really see Holly being a winner. This was only one thin coat of gloss one me but the color is very buildable and with a thicker coat or two coats, this is definitely a bright pop of red. Again, I'm not a red lips kinda girl but even for me, especially for the holiday season, Holly is a winner!

China Glaze Party Hearty

Wanting to wear Party Heaty for Christmas but don't know what to layer it over? I have just a few ideas for you! I didn't end up wearing Party Hearty as much as I had hoped to.. I wanted to try it once alone and once over white, gold, and silver but none of those happened. I do however have some other combo ideas you might like..
Over my White Christmas mani (Orly Gumdrop)
Over Color Club Magic Attraction
Over BI Pretty In Pink
Over Essie Mint Candy Apple
Over Red Holo No Name Snowman
I think my favorite combo was over Color Club Magic Attraction. Hope this gives you a few ideas :)

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

Good morning! It's 3 am and I can't sleep, what else is new? This falling asleep late, waking up at odd hours of the morning, not sleeping at all thing.. it's becoming a pattern for me. I'm watching the Santa Clause right now. What better way to spend the day before Christmas Eve? Sleeping possibly but yaknow.. that doesn't really seem like a possibility with me right now. Moving on.. the week long storm that hit So Cal seems like it's finally over, I hope. I like rain and all, just not when it keeps me up all night like it did yesterday night. Too bad it wasn't colder so that that rain could've turned into snow. I've always dreamed of having a white Christmas but San Diego weather doesn't permit so I just have to pretend. Here's my version of a white Christmas. I used Orly Gumdrop, NYC Scandalous Blue Glitter, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Orly Shine Konaded snowflakes (which you can barely see, if at all), and Wet N Wild French White Creme Konaded Snowflakes.

Are you going to have a white Christmas? Can I live vicariously through you please? :0)

Guest Blogger: My Best Friend Kim

Hey all! Today my BFF (or as well call each other, PFL [pal for life]) Kim is sharing a Christmas mani with you! Here's Kim:

HALLLLOOOOOO here is my pre christmas mani...
This was awhile ago, Dori did her oh so cute snow man (which she does every year) and I as a newbie/busy mom decided to use my free time being creative and painting penguins on my nails (cuz they looked a lot easier than snowmen teehee)
This is where I got the idea. I actually saw this last year so this year I HAD to do it. I used a bunch of LA Colors Art Deco nail art polishes and the heart I filled in with my Jelly Apple Essie red and the red glitter on top is the art deco.
They look hard but were actually very easy. Painting with my left hand however my penguins came out kinda funny. I called them my emo punk rock penguin band lol. These are super cute and easy to do so everyone should try them!!! I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and stay warm! :)

China Glaze Ruby Pumps

It's pouring here in So Cal and I can't sleep at all cause the rain is so loud. I got about 2 terrible hours of sleep and just can't fall back asleep. What better to do when the noisy rain keeps you up all night long?! Blog about nail polish, of course! China Glaze Ruby Pumps. Two coats of gorgeous Christmas red glitter. In real life, this polish is a much darker red but my camera hates reds and refuses to photograph them correctly. I love how the glitter in this polish looks lit from within and like its burning hot coals underneath the surface. As far as red glitters go, this is the original and possibly still the best there is out there. A must own if you're a polish lover and perfect for Christmas! :0)

OPI The Show Must Go On!

OPI The Show Must Go On! from this year's Holiday Burlesque. This one was a very surprising favorite. I love red for the holiday season but this one stands out cause it's like no other polish that I own. It's a shimmery red foil with a hint of pink in it and has a slight gold duochrome. This was 3 coats for perfect application. As you can see, I only have a mini bottle of this cause I bought the Tiny Teasers mini set but this one is just so gorgeous, I think I'm gonna need to buy a full size bottle before it's not around anymore.

Hope you have a lovely Tuesday!
