China Glaze Peace on Earth

Good Morning! It's a beautiful day here in So Cal, cold, but beautiful. Right now I've got my heater, Christmas lights, and Christmas music on so of course I needed to put on Christmas polish too. This is China Glaze Peace on Earth from this year's Naughty & Nice Holiday collection. Peace on Earth is a nice olive green with gold frost and shimmer in it. If you look closely in the last picture, you can see a but of muli-color shimmer too! This polish almost could have been a one coater but because of the frostiness of the polish, I used two coats just to even out the brush strokes a bit. Application wise, this polish was a bit runny so I found myself cleaning up the huge polish drips that were coming off the wand during the middle of painting each nail. No big deal as long as you catch the polish drip in time. Overall, I'm a big fan of this polish cause the color is so unlike most greens released during the holiday season, yet it works!

Have a lovely day :o)

China Glaze Mrs.Claus

Happy Monday! Well sorta.. are Monday's ever happy? Oh well. Anyways, today I have for you China Glaze Mrs.Claus from the 2010 Naughty & Nice Holiday collection. I'll be the first to say this polish didn't interest me at all when I saw it in promo pics.. not even when I saw pictures of it from other lovely bloggers. I actually only bought this polish because it came in the Merry Mint set that I wanted specifically for the Peppermint Cuticle Oil (which I dropped and broke after my first use.. luckily, it was on a hard wood floor. Can't imagine getting that stain out of white carpet. Moving on..). Much to my surprise, this polish is much more gorgeous in real life than it is in pics. This polish is a jelly pink red loaded with medium sized red and silver glitter. Now I can't tell if there's actually both red and silver glitter, or if it's silver glitter only and the pink-red base just makes some of the glitter look red. Whatever the case, it's a gorgeous polish and perfect for Christmas time. Cute name too, huh?!

Hope you all have a great Monday!

OPI Simmer & Shimmer

Heeelllllooooo readers, hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving weekend! Today I have for you OPI Simmer & Shimmer from the Burlesque Holiday 2010 collection. This is a light blue turquoise glitter with silver, gold, purple, orange, pink and red glitter. This glitter is pretty dense and I probably could have used only two coats but I used three cause I had some bald spots on a few nails. Very sparkly and festive.. just my cup of tea (or in my case, coffee)!

Happy Sunday :0)

Nfu Oh 51

How was everyone's Thanksgiving and Black Friday? My meal was amazing and I scored some sales that I'm pretty happy about. $225 pea coat for $62?!? Yes please!! Today I have on Nfuh Oh 51. Yes, the beloved 51. It's gorgeous and shimmery and flakie and squooshie and breath taking. I don't even like purple polish but I'm obsessed with this one. 51 is a purple fuschia jelly with pink flakies. It's a little hard to tell in pictures, but the polish actually looks purple-blue on the tips because of VNL (visible nail line) so if VNL annoys you, you'd probably be better off layering this polish over a similar color. Nonetheless, this is a gorgeous polish and a must-have for any flakie love.

First Post

Hey everyone, Happy Thanksgiving! So I've had quite a few of my friends tell me I should start a nail blog.. and since it's Thanksgiving night and I'm sitting here on my couch watching Beauty & The Beast on ABC Fam in a food coma, I figured there was no better way to kill my time between stuffing my face with turkey and pumpkin pie and waiting til the outlet mall opens at midnight for Black Friday. Anyyywaysssss.. I thought I'd start with my first post being random Thanksgiving spam. Behold:
OPI Ginger Bells! from the Winter 2009 Holiday Wishes collection. A warm pumpkin pie orange creme. I chose this as Thanksgiving mani this year. I just ate pumpkin pie but looking at this polish makes me wants seconds. Nom nom nom.
OPI Dazzled By Gold from the Ulta Exclusive Holiday 2009 collection. This is the best. gold. ever. It's a light gold foil with gold and silver  micro-glitter particles that dazzle and shine like no polish I've ever seen before.
Essie Mink Muffs from the Cuddle With Color Fall 2009 Collection. Hot chocolate on my nails?!?! Yes please!!!
China Glaze Ick-A-Bod-Y from the Awakening Halloween 2010 collection. Murky swamp green jelly densely packed with medium sized bright orange square glitter. Love the name, love the polish. I know it's a Halloween color but I say it works for Thanksgiving too, hence it being in this post. :)
Del Sol Trick-Or-Treat from Halloween 2010. Okay okay, another Halloween polish. But this one works for Thanksgiving too!!! Right?!? Thought so. Anyways, this is a clear base with light orange, lime green, and holo glitter when inside but as soon as the sun hits it, it turns into a deep blackened purple jelly packed with sparkly holo glitter! It's all that and a bag of chips. BBQ chips that is. Moving on..
OPI Holiday Glow also form the  Winter 2009 Winter Wishes Holiday collection. Dark plum brown with gold, silver, and red glitter. This one is Thanksgiving in a bottle to me.
LA Girls Copper. A glowy orange-copper shimmer. This color has fall written all over it. Its so festive and just glows in the sun!
Zoya Richelle. A gorgeous warm copper gold with silver micro shimmer in it.
OPI Los Angeles Latte. See that subtle red shimmer!? Love it :0)
Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure over OPI Shim-Merry Chic again from Holiday Wishes 2009. Shim-Merry Chic is a gorgeous cool shimmery copper with flakies that change from red to orange to green depending on the angle from which you look at it. You can see the flakies really well in the bottle but they aren't as apparent on the nail which is why I topped it off with Hidden Treasure.  Looks like fall leafs! :)

So that's it for my first post. From now on I plan to do one review at a time as opposed random spam like this. The plan is to do nail polish (hence the Acetone) reviews as well as makeup (hence the Kiss). Hopefully I'll acquire some readers and followers along the way so I don't feel like a big loser writing a blog no one reads. If you have any questions/comments about the polishes or just want to get to know me better, feel free to comments or to ask anything! Until next time, Happy Thanksgiving. Gobble gobble. (=>)~ (<-- that's a turkey by the way)
