Scotch Tape Mani Revamped

Same mani as earlier this morning just revamped. I really like this a lot better. Look at the sparkly holoness in that last pic!! This sparkles like crazy in the sun, I love it. So proud of myself :0)

Scotch Tape Design

Gooooood morning! Happy Friday to you all! Boy, am I glad that I don't have classes on Friday this quarter. I hate Friday classes and I love me a 3 day weekend on the regular. Today i decided to try something different and very new to me. On the Nail Board there's a lovely MUAer named Ericka who does these absolutely amazing mani designs using scotch tape. She made a scotch tape funky french tutorial a while back that I tried to copy and my lines came out all out of whack. Well a couple days ago she posted a really cool design and tutorial with scotch tape on the board and on her blog and I thought it was so amazing, I just had to give it a shot! On the blue nails I used Zoya Kotori topped with Color Club Sexy Siren. The design nails are Wet N Wild Black Creme topped with Color Club Sexy Siren. Pretty cool, huh!? I think this time I had better success with scotch tape because I used a thicker non-shiny type of scotch tape which adhered better to my nails making crisper, cleaner lines. I quite like this a lot so I think I'm going to have to experiment more with scotch tape nail art designs.

It's Friday; smile!

Christmas Green

Color Club Object of Envy over Zoya Ivanka. I'm not even a fan of green polish but holy crap, I love this! This to me, is exactly what a Christmas green should look like. LOVE.

Zoya Ivanka

This polish is so hard to photograph!.. Especially on a dark, cloudy, rainy day.Zoya Ivanka is from this past summer's Sparkle collection. The is a true medium green (reminds me of $$$... maybe it's names after Ivanka Trump??) that has a gold duochrome to it. I love this. It sparkles, it shimmers, it has a bit of a foil look to it too... and even though it came out in the summer and it looks like a summer color to me, it looks like Christmas to me too! Yesterday I got a dozen compliments on my nails at work. I think this polish has gotten more compliments than any other nail polish I've worn in a very long time. Winner winner chicken dinner!!

My Top 20

So you may or may not be familiar with MUA, the Nail Board, or the Nail Board Top 20 but each Fall we do a Top 20 polish list in which everyone on the board submits their favorite 20 polishes to a NB member and they tally up the votes. Today was the day that the votes and the 2010 NB Top 20 were shared on the board. It becomes a bit of a spam fest on acid where everyone shares what polishes made their top 20 list and so I figured it was reason as good as any to share with you all what made my top 20 list this year. Some of these I have posted on here before (mostly because I was trying to have swatches done to share on the board when I revealed my top 20 list) so hopefully that's not a big deal. Behold, my Top 20:

China Glaze Fortune Teller
OPI Absolutely Alice
Deborah Lippman Happy Birthday
Color Club Electro Candy
Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure
