China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

Oh man, I can;t even begin to tell you how this was to photograph because I could not for the life of me get this to come out color accurate in my pictures. This is China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise topped with two coats of Pure Ice Heartbreaker. Turned Up Turquoise is a neon bright green turquoise shimmer but since the shimmer isn;t too obvious, I like to top it with Pure Ice Heartbreaker to make it have even more shimmer :0) Sorry these pictures suck but after about 100 pictures, unfortunately these were the best I could get. I promise that in real like this polish is so, so gorgeous. This was one of my first, if not the first, neon polish I ever owned and it started with a frenzy. I love me some turquoise and I love me some neon.

Hope you have a great Sunday and enjoy your long weekend :0)

China Glaze Pink Voltage

Let me just start out by saying that these pictures are not color accurate. I don;t know what it is about neon, but it just does not want to cooperate and be photographed. Camera always wary neons and make seem so much morning than they really are. In real life, Pink Voltage is a neon, retina searing, hot pink. This neon is crazy!! It's so bright and so pink and it's got this gorgeous fuschia shimmer in it. One of my favorite neon polishes ever and since it's about 82 degrees outside, it's the prefect time to wear it. Seriously though, these pics do no do this polish justice. You just have to see this in real life!

It's Friday :0)

Maybelline Goody Plum Drop

Purples never usually capture well on camera but this one came out pretty accurate. Maybelline Goody Plum Drop was a part of last year's Sweet Thing Spring collection. I. love. this. color. I am by no means, a purple polish fan. Purple and green are actually my very least favorite polish colors (I almost dislike them) so it takes quite a bit for a purple or green polish to catch me eye. And for me to love a purple polish?! Almost unheard of.. I think there's about *thinks* three purple polishes that I love, that I can think of off the top of my head. Anyway, this one is perfect for Spring and I think it's fits quite well for Valentine's Day too. Purple for Valentines Day? Sure, why not. I'm pretty sure all the colors in this collection were cremes, and at first glace this one looks like a creme too. Don't be fooled, there's shimmer in there! Click the picture to view full size. Can you see it? It's barely noticeable unless you're looking for it but there's a slight silver shimmer in Goody Plum Drop. Very pretty. This one applied pretty well except it was a teensey-tiny bit stringy though I can't complain because Minty (from the same collection) is much more strong in application. This was two coats.

Hope you have a fantastic Saturday :0)

OPI Silver Belles

OPI Silver Belles is from the Holiday 2009 ULTA Exclusive Tiny Tinsels Collection. It's still mighty cold here in So Cal so dark grays and silvers just seem to fit. Silver Belles is a medium gunmetal silver. It's foil-like dark silver shimmer from one angle but as soon as the light hits it, the light silver becomes much more apparent. I really love this color. Another perfect dark silver for this So Cal weather. At least it's not raining anymore. Actually, I quite like the rain.. but only really when I'm inside, not outside getting soaked in it.

It's a beautiful day!!

Winter Snow

I really wanted to do these nails before Christmas but I was always crunched on time and had a red vibe going on so I figured I could put these off until after Christmas. I used 3 coats of Sally Hansen Lavender Envy (I got this polish as a Christmas present 3 years ago from my bff and unfortunately it's been long discontinued), 1 coat China Glaze Fairy Dust, and I used China Glaze Millennium as the snowflakes. The rhinestones are Lamour Crystal AB (Aurora Borealis) Rhinestones that I got from a Nail Polish Beauty store.

Brrrr, it's cold outside!

OPI Brand New Skates

Sorry I've been MIA the past two days, I'm back in LA again and school starts today so this next week is going to be a bit hectic too. It's a cold, wet, and gray day here in So Cal and OPI Brand New Skates is the perfect polish that reminds me this kind of weather. Dark silver gray with gold flake shimmer. Amazing. This is one of my all time favorite polishes and definitely my favorite polish to wear for this kind of weather.
Hope you all had a great NYE and New Years Day. My New Year's Eve was really low key. I went out to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, had a few sip's of champagne at my brother's house, went to my BFF Kim's house to play Let's Dance on the Wii, and got home with 15 mins to spare to ring in the New Year by watching the ball drop in New Yprk with mymom while eating frozen yogurt. My kind of NYE. What did you do?

OPI Ali's Big Break

OPI Ali's Big Break is from this year's Holiday Burlesque collection. It's a medium red with very subtle pink shimmer. Honestly, I don't like this. I didn't like it in the swatches I saw, in the bottle, and I don't like it on my nails. I'm home with my mom for the holidays so I only packed so many polishes to bring home. When I was packing I knew I needed lots of glittery reds and I figured why not bring this one along. Well this is the last glitter red that I packed to be worn and it's my least favorite. I just don't like the pink shimmer in it I guess, it makes the polish itself look pink and odd. Plus, theres not enough shimmer for me, I find it quite boring. Oh well.
On a side note, as many of you may have noticed, the pictures are no longer working on the blog. Last night right before I went to sleep I noticed that the pictures were no longer loading correctly because I exceeded my bandwidth on Photobucket, which is the site I use to upload all the pictures shown on this blog. I am currently fixing it and it's taking much longer than I had hoped it would take. I am re-saving everything back on my computer from my Photobucket account and trying to re-upload everything onto the blog. I'm really sorry about this inconvenience, I guess there's always gonna be bumps in the road when you're a new blogger and trying to learn the tricks of the trade. Hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

Good morning! It's 3 am and I can't sleep, what else is new? This falling asleep late, waking up at odd hours of the morning, not sleeping at all thing.. it's becoming a pattern for me. I'm watching the Santa Clause right now. What better way to spend the day before Christmas Eve? Sleeping possibly but yaknow.. that doesn't really seem like a possibility with me right now. Moving on.. the week long storm that hit So Cal seems like it's finally over, I hope. I like rain and all, just not when it keeps me up all night like it did yesterday night. Too bad it wasn't colder so that that rain could've turned into snow. I've always dreamed of having a white Christmas but San Diego weather doesn't permit so I just have to pretend. Here's my version of a white Christmas. I used Orly Gumdrop, NYC Scandalous Blue Glitter, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Orly Shine Konaded snowflakes (which you can barely see, if at all), and Wet N Wild French White Creme Konaded Snowflakes.

Are you going to have a white Christmas? Can I live vicariously through you please? :0)

OPI The Show Must Go On!

OPI The Show Must Go On! from this year's Holiday Burlesque. This one was a very surprising favorite. I love red for the holiday season but this one stands out cause it's like no other polish that I own. It's a shimmery red foil with a hint of pink in it and has a slight gold duochrome. This was 3 coats for perfect application. As you can see, I only have a mini bottle of this cause I bought the Tiny Teasers mini set but this one is just so gorgeous, I think I'm gonna need to buy a full size bottle before it's not around anymore.

Hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

Zoya Ivanka

This polish is so hard to photograph!.. Especially on a dark, cloudy, rainy day.Zoya Ivanka is from this past summer's Sparkle collection. The is a true medium green (reminds me of $$$... maybe it's names after Ivanka Trump??) that has a gold duochrome to it. I love this. It sparkles, it shimmers, it has a bit of a foil look to it too... and even though it came out in the summer and it looks like a summer color to me, it looks like Christmas to me too! Yesterday I got a dozen compliments on my nails at work. I think this polish has gotten more compliments than any other nail polish I've worn in a very long time. Winner winner chicken dinner!!

OPI Senorita Rosalita

Hellooo all, today I am a bit loopy and I've had a crazy past 24 hours. Last night I was taking an online final and 15 question in (75 questions total) I accidentally X'ed out of the browser my final was up in.. only to go back and realize that my teacher specifically wrote "once you open the final, finish it, you will not be able to open it again". WTF, RIGHT?! So I email my teacher about my issue pleading for my case to be an acception. Luckily I hear back from her at 10:00pm. I finished the final by 11:30 and was so tired and out of it that I slept through my 5:00am alarm this morning and got to my final over a half an hour late. Have I bored you to death yet? Is you heart still beating?... *cricket* *cricket*.. OKAY, COOL!! Glad you still have a pulse, here's OPI Senorita Rosalita. Looks a lot like ChG Strawberry Field but it's more of a darker rose color and looks a bit more adult like to me. Rosey pink, gold shimmer.. pretty but a bit boring. I'm biast though cause I'm not much into pink. Oh and the best part about this polish?? One coat!! Yes, one. How amazing is that?! Anyways.. I feel a bit nauseous (TMI?) but I'm done jibjaberring now.

Hope you have a lovely day!

China Glaze Peace on Earth

Good Morning! It's a beautiful day here in So Cal, cold, but beautiful. Right now I've got my heater, Christmas lights, and Christmas music on so of course I needed to put on Christmas polish too. This is China Glaze Peace on Earth from this year's Naughty & Nice Holiday collection. Peace on Earth is a nice olive green with gold frost and shimmer in it. If you look closely in the last picture, you can see a but of muli-color shimmer too! This polish almost could have been a one coater but because of the frostiness of the polish, I used two coats just to even out the brush strokes a bit. Application wise, this polish was a bit runny so I found myself cleaning up the huge polish drips that were coming off the wand during the middle of painting each nail. No big deal as long as you catch the polish drip in time. Overall, I'm a big fan of this polish cause the color is so unlike most greens released during the holiday season, yet it works!

Have a lovely day :o)
