Spring Flowers

I feel like I'm jumping the gun a little bit getting all geared up for Spring when it's still January but it's hard not to when its 80  and tank top, shorts, and flip flops weather. This mani is one that I did for my friend Rochelle. You may remember I featured another mani of her's last week on the blog. Well I've sucked her into the nail polish world and obsessed and she was so thrilled to be featured on the blog last week, I decided to do it again :0). This was three coats of Milani Hi-Red from last year's Spring 3D Holographic collection. She wanted flowers on top so I free handed three daisies using OPI Alpine snow as the petals and China Glaze Lemon Fizz and the center on her ring fingers as accent nails. Very cute and very Spring like. :0)

Neon Leopard

Happy Martin Luther King Day! Hopefully you all have the day off work and school and are enjoying your long weekend. I was so excited to finally get to wear China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise after having not worn it for so long, I didn't wanna take it off! So instead I just added Konad on top! I just Wet N Wild Black Creme for the leopard stamp and for inside the spots I just Colo Club: Electro Candy, Volt Of Light, What A Shock!, Pure Energy as well as China Glaze Coconut Kiss. :0)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your long weekend. I know I will!

Pink Flower Konad

It's Monday morning and it's going to be a good, sunny, and warm week here in So Cal :0)! I'm so excited because it seems like Spring is on it's way. Don't get me wrong, I looove Winter, but as soon as the holiday season is over, the exciting and fun part of Winter is over in my opinion. I'm ready for Spring soon after ringing in the new year and when the warm weather sets in. Luckily for me, LA is getting sunny and warm weather this week and we're hopefully going to get into the 70's by the weekend. What better for warm weather than Spring time/Valentine's Day manis?! Nothing I say!
This is my friend Rochelle's nails, I did them for her two nights ago.I used Maybelline ASSweetie Pie with Sally Hansen Strawberry icing over it and for the Konad I used China Glaze Millennium. Pretty huh?! She loved it :0)

Hope your week is warm and sunny as well, wherever you are.

Sprinkles Cupcakes

On this sunny and warm Sunday morning my friend Rochelle and I made our way over to Sprinkles Cupcakes in Beverly Hills to get ourselves a sugar fix. Sprinkles Cupcakes are to. die. for. Don't believe me? Have a lookie-loo for yourself.
Red Velvet and The King.
Rochelle got the Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting.
And I got The King, which is a banana cake cupcake with creamy peanut butter frosting. It's named after Elvis and his favorite peanut butter and banana sandwich. Now, I looove me a peanut butter and banana sandwich but this cupcake was amazingly delicious. The frosting was sooo good that even after I finished my cupcake I couldn't pass up devouring a Frosting Shot. Everyone know that the frosting is the best part of the cupcake so I took the girl at the counter's suggestion and got me a Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting Shot.
MMmmMMmMmMMMmMmmMmMMmm!!!
Annnnd, to make my adventure over to Sprinkles Cupcakes that much more fun, I had to go in theme with, what else, CUPCAKE NAILS!!!
Now what flavors are these you ask? Classic Yellow Cake with Raspberry Cream Cheese Frosting, Chocolate Fudge Brownie with Sweet Strawberry Frosting, Mint Chocolate Chip with Bittersweet Chocolate Ganache, and Pure Strawberry with Sweet Buttercream Frosting.
NOM NOM NOM!!!
Happy Sun Day!

Scotch Tape Mani Revamped

Same mani as earlier this morning just revamped. I really like this a lot better. Look at the sparkly holoness in that last pic!! This sparkles like crazy in the sun, I love it. So proud of myself :0)

Scotch Tape Design

Gooooood morning! Happy Friday to you all! Boy, am I glad that I don't have classes on Friday this quarter. I hate Friday classes and I love me a 3 day weekend on the regular. Today i decided to try something different and very new to me. On the Nail Board there's a lovely MUAer named Ericka who does these absolutely amazing mani designs using scotch tape. She made a scotch tape funky french tutorial a while back that I tried to copy and my lines came out all out of whack. Well a couple days ago she posted a really cool design and tutorial with scotch tape on the board and on her blog and I thought it was so amazing, I just had to give it a shot! On the blue nails I used Zoya Kotori topped with Color Club Sexy Siren. The design nails are Wet N Wild Black Creme topped with Color Club Sexy Siren. Pretty cool, huh!? I think this time I had better success with scotch tape because I used a thicker non-shiny type of scotch tape which adhered better to my nails making crisper, cleaner lines. I quite like this a lot so I think I'm going to have to experiment more with scotch tape nail art designs.

It's Friday; smile!

Winter Snow

I really wanted to do these nails before Christmas but I was always crunched on time and had a red vibe going on so I figured I could put these off until after Christmas. I used 3 coats of Sally Hansen Lavender Envy (I got this polish as a Christmas present 3 years ago from my bff and unfortunately it's been long discontinued), 1 coat China Glaze Fairy Dust, and I used China Glaze Millennium as the snowflakes. The rhinestones are Lamour Crystal AB (Aurora Borealis) Rhinestones that I got from a Nail Polish Beauty store.

Brrrr, it's cold outside!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

Good morning! It's 3 am and I can't sleep, what else is new? This falling asleep late, waking up at odd hours of the morning, not sleeping at all thing.. it's becoming a pattern for me. I'm watching the Santa Clause right now. What better way to spend the day before Christmas Eve? Sleeping possibly but yaknow.. that doesn't really seem like a possibility with me right now. Moving on.. the week long storm that hit So Cal seems like it's finally over, I hope. I like rain and all, just not when it keeps me up all night like it did yesterday night. Too bad it wasn't colder so that that rain could've turned into snow. I've always dreamed of having a white Christmas but San Diego weather doesn't permit so I just have to pretend. Here's my version of a white Christmas. I used Orly Gumdrop, NYC Scandalous Blue Glitter, China Glaze Fairy Dust, Orly Shine Konaded snowflakes (which you can barely see, if at all), and Wet N Wild French White Creme Konaded Snowflakes.

Are you going to have a white Christmas? Can I live vicariously through you please? :0)

Guest Blogger: My Best Friend Kim

Hey all! Today my BFF (or as well call each other, PFL [pal for life]) Kim is sharing a Christmas mani with you! Here's Kim:

HALLLLOOOOOO here is my pre christmas mani...
This was awhile ago, Dori did her oh so cute snow man (which she does every year) and I as a newbie/busy mom decided to use my free time being creative and painting penguins on my nails (cuz they looked a lot easier than snowmen teehee)
This is where I got the idea. I actually saw this last year so this year I HAD to do it. I used a bunch of LA Colors Art Deco nail art polishes and the heart I filled in with my Jelly Apple Essie red and the red glitter on top is the art deco.
They look hard but were actually very easy. Painting with my left hand however my penguins came out kinda funny. I called them my emo punk rock penguin band lol. These are super cute and easy to do so everyone should try them!!! I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas and stay warm! :)

Christmas Nails

Can you believe there's only a week left until Christmas?! By this time next next week I will be sitting under my tree with my family opening gifts. Or possibly we'll still be eating our prefect Christmas breakfast (now that we're all adults my mom insists that Christmas morning breakfast come before presents, not after) consisting of the most amazing glazed upside down sticky buns (I'll make sure to share pictures!!) and Lil' Smokies. Yum, yum, yum!! But with only one week left until Christmas, I'm scrambling to crank out as many Christmas manis as possible. Christmas only comes once a year, and since I'm a huge fan of the season, I want to go all out in every way possible.. including nails! Here's my Christmas nails for today, I was going to wait to show them tomorrow but I'm too excited about them to resist! I got off work late last night and stayed up til 1:00 doing these. I think my lack of sleep was worth it :0)
Left hand: Santa's Hat, Gingerbread Man, Christmas Tree, Candy Cane
Right Hand: Ice Skate, Christmas Present, Rudolph, Snowman
And for my thumbs I was at a bit of a loss as to what to do, so I just put China Glaze Party Hearty on top!
I actually really like how Party Hearty looks over Color Club Magic Attraction (the base color I used here), I think I'm gonna have to do a full mani like this.. it's so sparkly and festive and I love how every color glitter in Party Hearty shows up over Magic Attraction. What other colors do you all like Party Hearty over? Anyone else do any fun Christmas nail art?

Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!

Gingerbread Men

Good morning! I've been trying to be creative when it comes to Christmas nails.. I'm not very experienced when it comes to nail art but with all the fun ideas for Christmas nail art, I figure what better time to practice :0). This was Color Club Enchanted Holiday topped with two coats of Sinful All About You. The Gingerbread men were OPI Ginger Bells!, They white was Wet N Wild French White Creme, the bow ties were Zoya Veruschka, and the gum drop buttons were OPI Dear Santa.
The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day :0)

Christmas Snowmen

Good morning! Can you believe there's only 13 days left until Christmas?! That means only 13 more days left of Christmas manis too!! What a sad fact.. which means I have to squeeze as many Christmas manis into these next 13 days as I can. Whose with me!? First up is Christmas snowmen. I did a snowmen mani last year too and now I'm having trouble remembering where I saw the original picture that I got inspiration from so this year I just used last years picture to try to duplicate.
And just for kicks, here's last year's version
Besides the fact that my application was a bit off and my nails were horridly long and uneven, I think I did a pretty good job last year considering this was my first attempt at detailed nail art. I think I'll make this snowman mani a part of my Christmas tradition and recreate them every year :0) I love snowmen and the snow and since I live in So Cal I only get to see snow when I go to the mountains to go snowboarding so having snowmen on my nails lets me enjoy the snow and pretend like I'm having a white Christmas :0)

Happy Sun Day!
